University Faculty

universityThe ORP / 403b market has been the focus of Mike's business since 1991. His client base spans the major university systems in the state. He is an independent retirement planner that offers Investment Advisory Services.* He is not beholden to any one brokerage house or company that sells proprietary products.

To be an effective retirement planner today, you cannot be a general practitioner that attempts to serve every market. Mike has worked with college professors for years and knows how university compensation structures and other streams of income (consulting, publishing, expert witness work, etc.) combine to impact their retirement and tax planning needs.

Retirement plans do not exist in a vacuum. A planner must know how Social Security benefits, 403b distribution rules and tax implications affect the retirement planning process.

We believe a planner should be able to think conceptually and create a strategy tailored to the needs of the individual. Once the strategy is implemented, it is important to avoid the herd mentality and resist making the behavioral mistakes of others.

College professors are unique. As a former educator, Mike is familiar with the different issues and stressors affecting professors from teaching requirements to academic research and the rigors of the promotion and tenure process.

Not every retirement advisor / planner is familiar with the nuances of the ORP / 403b market! Mike has excelled in this area through years of study and working with college professors.
